Anatomy Of Our Side Arm Parasols

Large garden umbrellas and side arm parasols

A - Raised Bellows (Top Canopy)

The raised bellows which sit at the top of our side arm parasols are for both aesthetic and safety reasons - helping any sudden gusts of wind escape from the main canopy.

B - Main Canopy

This is the main body of fabric which makes up the canopy of the parasol. All of our canopies are handmade in Italy from fade resitant, waterproof, Acrylic material.

C - Ribs

The ribs extend from the central hub of the parasol outward to the four corners of the canopy, as well as half way along each edge. Their primary function is to provide stability and tension within the main canopy.

D - Main Arm

The main arm extends away from the shaft, leaning over the top of space, and carries the weight of the main canopy. Adjusting the height of the Piazza models canopy is achieved by either lowering or raising the main arm.

E - Tilt Handle

Our garden parasols offer a unique tilt feature, which allows the user to either lower or raise the front edge of the main canopy. This is particular useful when the Sun sits lower in the sky.

F - Winch

Each of our cantilever parasol models can be operated incredibly easily with a single winch handle.

G - Shaft

This is the main load bearing part of the parasol structure, constructed from powder coated aluminium. The shaft provides strength and stability to the cantilever operation of the parasol.

H - Base

We offer three base options for our parasols - the surface base, the deck plate, and the in-ground socket (as seen above). During our complimentary site visits we discuss which of these may be the most suitable for your space.
